Yes, it can.
The hatching unit should be at least 1.5 feet from any wall and the other solid surfaces. There are vents on both the side and back of the unit as well as a fan for proper ventilation. If it’s too close, sufficient air flow may be blocked, increasing the carbon dioxide levels inside the hatcher. This could result in a lower hatch rate.
